Billing Your First BillYou may notice that your first monthly bill is higher than expected. Don't be alarmed - your first bill is not a typical one because it contains some of the following one-time charges related to setting up your Nextel account. Future bills will reflect a single month's charges only.
One-Time, Prorated Access Charges For example: If your phone was activated on the 20th of the month, and the first billing period ended on the 2nd of the month...you would see a charge for the 13 days of service remaining in your billing period. In this case, you would see a charge for 43% (13 days divided by one full month of 30 days = 43%) of the full monthly access charge.
Advanced Billing
Account Activation Fee
Equipment Shipping & Handling Fee
One-Time, Refundable Service Deposit
Zero-Charge Call Details Election Fee If you want to see the details of all your calls, you can choose to receive your bill by email or register your account2 on Nextel.com to access your information online. You may also elect to receive your cellular call detail on your printed invoice for $2.50 / subscriber / month. This fee will not exceed $10 / account / month for cellular calls (up to a maximum of 4 subscribers per account per month). Go here to learn how to track your monthly cellular usage.
1 Your monthly billing period (for example, June 3rd – July 2nd) is provided at the top of each page of your Nextel bill.
