NEXTEL Wireless Error Messages

Not sure why you're getting a particular error message when using Direct Connect® or Nationwide Direct ConnectSM service? Here's a list of possible messages and troubleshooting advice. If you need further assistance, please contact a representative at 1-800-325-3315

Please try again

  • Cause: Your contact is out of coverage.
  • Solution: Wait a few minutes and try again
Service Restricted OR Restricted
  • Cause: Your rate plan does not include Direct Connect service. OR You do not have Nationwide Direct Connect service. OR You recently added Nationwide Direct Connect service to your plan and need to reactivate with the network.
  • Solution: Contact a representative to add Direct Connect minutes to your service. OR Confirm you have Nationwide Direct Connect service by checking with your Account Administrator or contacting a representative. OR Turn your phone off and on.
Target Not Available
  • Cause: Your phone does not support Nationwide Direct Connect service.
  • Solution: Upgrade to a new phone
User Busy in Data
  • Cause: Your contact is using Wireless Data Services
  • Solution: Wait a few minutes and try again
User Busy in Private
  • Cause: Your contact is on another Direct Connect call.
  • Solution: Wait a few minutes and try again
User Not Authorized
  • Cause: Your contact does not have Nationwide Direct Connect service or the phone does not support it.
  • Solution: Encourage your contact to either add Nationwide Direct Connect service or upgrade, so he or she can start enjoying all the benefits of Nationwide Direct Connect service.
User Not Available
  • Cause: Your contact is on a call. OR Your contact does not have Nationwide Direct Connect service or the phone does not support it.
  • Solution: Wait a few minutes and try again. OR Encourage your contact to either add Nationwide Direct Connect service or upgrade, so he or she can start enjoying all the benefits of Nationwide Direct Connect service.
