The Nextel BuyBack program gives you an account credit or donation receipt when you return your old phone.

About the account credit
The amount of credit varies by phone model. Normal wear and tear is acceptable, as long as the phone powers on and doesn't rattle. You must include the battery. You can also return accessories for proper disposal.

About the donation receipt
You can return any phone for a donation receipt. Proceeds support the American Red Cross Armed Forces Emergency Services program, which provides assistance and comfort to the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families across the country and around the world.

What happens to returned phones
The Nextel BuyBack program recycles old phones for further use when possible and, when not, disposes them in an environmentally sound manner. Examples of uses include:

• Replacements for the insurance program
• Phones for Nextel employees
• Parts to repair other phones
• Collected phones are NOT sold back to the public.
